Wacky jig head fishing is a super technique for finicky fish, and just plain catches them under tough conditions! It is also tremendous fun because you get a ton of bites and you never know how big the fish will be! This is the hottest secret technique from the Japanese and one used quietly by a lot of US pros when the going gets tough.

This weighted jig head allows you to fish a weedless wacky rig deeper and and more efficiently. The bait and jig head literally rock all the way to the bottom. Suspended fish can’t stand it! Adding some slack line shaking only enhances the wicked irregular action that bass just can’t resist.

The Head Banger features;

1) Five strand trimmable custom-fiber weedguard, which means you can put your wacky rigged plastic where you want it and retrieve it weedless every time. The fiber is much better at preventing snags than the single wire weedguard other companies use. The weedguard is angled down close to the hook so it does not interfere with hook penetration.

2) Chemically sharpened black nickel short shank #1 Matzuo sickle hook so the hook will penetrate easily on light line. The bends in the hook give it incredible strength. The angle in the curve of the hook is perfect for holding your wacky rigged bait in the correct position while shaking. The short shank is a key to the rocking motion on the fall.

3) The head is offset on the hook shank increasing the irregular action of the bait on the fall and when shaking. Think of it as a pendulum weight that is off-center.

4) 1/16 ounce weight is perfect on suspended fish and around shallow grass.

Amistad Tackle Product Tips: Using this weedless wacky jig is a great technique around docks and shallow aquatic vegetation. Rig the jig head in the exact middle of the bait. Either throw it out and do nothing (using it as a drop bait) or slack line shake it on the fall and along the bottom back to the boat (it will be weedless!). Maintain slack in your line as you shake, this is critical for giving the bait an erratic action.

Soft stick baits work well, but other soft plastics will also work. On the hook set you should not set the hook. This will pull the hook out of the fishes mouth. A steady pull after a bite and the small diameter hook will set itself in the corner or top of the fishes mouth.
