We've added another product to our Amistad Tackle custom made selection of lures, the Head Banger II.

The Amistad Tackle Head Banger II is a beefed up version of our original Head Banger.  It was designed for catching big fish in heavy cover, while still maintaining a finesse look.  It features a custom medium wire 28 degree number 1 size Mustad UltraPoint hook.  The hook bend is designed to hold the plastic in the correct position throughout the cast.  The Head Banger II retains the same off-set weight placement and five strand custom fiber weedguard as the original Head Banger.  The off-set weight placement keeps the bait wiggling erraticly while shaking the bait on a slack line.  The fiber weedguard is far superior for reducing snags when compared to competition heads single wire weedguard. 

Couple the Head Banger II with your favorite soft plastic stick bait and you've got a winning combination for fishing heavy cover with a finesse type bait.  We added a 1/8 ounce weight for fishing a little deeper or in windy conditions.  Compare our price to other brands at over $6 for three heads.  Bang some heads with the Head Banger!!!

Product Tips:  The Head Banger jigheads and a soft plastic stickbait are one of our favorite combinations for skipping under docks.  It is also our favorite technique on those tough days when you just can't get a bite.  With our new 1/8 ounce weight you will also be able to use the wacky jighead technique in deeper water.  We like 10 pound Berkley Fireline on a medium-heavy 6'6" spinning rod.  You can add a flourocarbon leader to the Fireline with a Uni Knot if the water is clear.  For a detailed look at the wacky jighead technique check out our In-Depth Angling article which we put together for the original Head Banger.
