Football jigs have become really popular the last few years. The Amistad Tackle Draggin’ Jig  has some special features we think you’ll like.

1) The 28 degree wide gap 4/0 Mustad Ultra Point hook is the same hook we use for our swimbait hooks. This hook is sticky sharp and Mustad Ultra Points are known for their tough hook point that doesn’t easily roll over. The hook is medium gauge wire so it won’t bend easily, but will still allow you to get penetration with a sweep hook set on a long cast. Not too heavy and not too light.   Most of the weight in this jig is forward, and along with the 28 degree hook, so when you pull, the trailer gets up into the fighting position just like a crayfish.

2) A medium gauge, color matched (green pumpkin or black) weed guard is angled down closer to the hook than other football jigs, allowing the hook to penetrate immediately and easily. The fiber guard is heavy enough to withstand snagging.

3) A small wire trailer keeper holds your trailer securely cast after cast.

4) The head has a baked on powder paint head for the ultimate in chip resistance.

Available in pure silicone and living rubber/silicone “mop” jig skirt styles.  All jigs, including living rubber/silicone mop jigs are banded.  We match the head powder paint to the skirt.  The mop jigs are 90% round living rubber.  We add about 10% silicon for a little color.  Add a matching trailer for the ultimate jig.
