Our hooks are all black nickel Mustad Ultra Points unless specified in the description. This is an excellent hook, which we have the upmost confidence in.

Our new 1/2 ounce heavy cover football jig is a 5/0 Gamakatsu. The smaller sizes are a 4/0 Mustad Ultra Point, which is the same brand hook that Jewel uses in their football jig.

We finally received a shipment of 8/0 swimbait hooks. They will be available in all the weights we regularly offer in the next few days. This hook is also excellent with the new Zoom magnum fluke either fished unweighted or on a Carolina rig.

We have also received the 4/0 fluke hook.

As reported on www.basszone.com professional angler Randy Howell caught some of his better fish on Day 3 at the BASS Elite series at Old Hickory on a 3/8 ounce football shakey head with a 5/0 hook. He explained he was using a Senko to get a bigger profile bait for targeting bigger fish. Check our hooks section for the Amistad Tackle 5/0 football shakey head with screwlock. Our head has a baked on powder paint for the ultimate in chip resistance and the hook is a super sharp Mustad Ultra Point.

If you follow the BASS Elite Series you saw that 1st place finisher Kevin Vandam and 5th place finisher Paul Elias both credited spoons as a key bait to their success on Kentucky Lakes famous ledges. VanDam was using a Strike King spoon in the sexy shad color. Elias’ spoon wasn’t Id’d other than it was silver. Deep diving crankbaits, football jigs, and big worms also were key. I love classic ledge fishing and was fortunate enough to fish Kentucky Lake back in the late-80’s.
